Des Moines, IAPosted Apr 2021 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

The process kicked off fast after I applied online for a backend role at Fetch Rewards—I heard back the very next day.

They sent me a take-home assignment to build an API, and the wording made it clear I could use whatever tools and languages I wanted. I did have to pay close attention to the data because the specification didn’t spell everything out, so I had to make reasonable assumptions and then be ready to justify them.

After I submitted the project, I had a Zoom interview with an engineer. We talked through how I approached the take-home and why I made certain design and implementation decisions, and it also included questions about my background and work experience. They got back to me the next day
