I interviewed with upper management, but the conversation left me with mixed feelings.

On paper it sounded like they were presenting the company in a positive light, like a great place to work.

What stood out to me, though, was that they didn’t fully reveal what the day-to-day reality was. They made it seem better than what I later understood about conditions inside the store, including how severe theft had been. Even though the interview format itself didn’t feel overly complicated, that gap between the pitch and the truth made the experience feel off.
