Seattle, WAPosted May 2012 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied online and got a phone interview, then the follow-up dragged on—over a week with no response.

Eventually a different team reached out for another phone screen, and after that I was invited onsite.

The onsite was confusing right away because I kept feeling like I wasn’t entirely sure which software engineer position they were truly hiring for. The format still followed the familiar pattern: a coding test first, then 1:1 interviews with engineers from different teams. The questions were fairly standard and matched what I’d seen described elsewhere, plus I was hit with a few practical coding tasks like printing the binary representation of a number and deleting a node from a binary
