I had an HR-initiated onsite interview sequence that felt smooth in the moment, but the final result was a rejection after following up.

HR scheduling / onsite setup — I was contacted by HR and scheduled a one-hour onsite interview in Singapore with two interviewers.
Product Owner / Code Owner style questions — I discussed my background and got a few technical questions; many questions sounded similar to what HR had mentioned beforehand, which made the alignment feel a bit off.
Follow-up — I followed up after about two weeks and eventually received a rejection. Outcome: No offer, and the takeaway was that even a “smooth” onsite can still end without progression if the match isn’t right.
