Reston, VAPosted Feb 2018 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a longer, high-touch hiring loop with multiple principal-engineer screens and heavy involvement from senior leaders, ending in an offer I chose not to take.

Recruiter screen — A recruiter reviewed my skills after I applied.
Phone screen (2 Principal Engineers) — Two principal engineers assessed my background over a phone call.
Phone screen (Hiring Manager) — A separate phone screen with the hiring manager.
Extended interview panel (on-site) — I did a series of 1:1 or panel discussions over a few hours with the hiring manager, current employees, and senior leaders (including directors). The decision took about 10 days. Outcome: Offer received but not accepted; I declined because another role better matched my career
