I went through a multi-part evaluation for the software engineering role that included both aptitude-style testing and a more role-focused discussion in-person.

Coding exam — a tough coding challenge set, including a problem about perfect squares and other difficult questions.
Aptitude test — an additional assessment following the coding exam.
Face-to-face: technical + managerial discussion — an in-person conversation that leaned into role-based discussion rather than only pure coding. Outcome: I didn’t move forward; the takeaway was that the coding exam was the main hurdle, and the later conversation validated how you approached the role.
