My interview felt oddly uncomfortable even though I didn’t really have complaints about the interviewer’s intent.

I didn’t go through a separate screening step, and I scheduled a first technical interview straightaway.

From the moment the task started, the interaction style threw me off. I tried to keep a dialogue going while I implemented the functionality, but the interviewer stayed silent most of the time. I even checked twice just to make sure he was present. Once the process began moving, he didn’t fill the time with constant interruptions or “flood” questions—he introduced himself, I did the same, and then we moved directly into the assignment.
