I was invited to a coding challenge after attending a career fair, and they said that if I passed I’d get an on-campus interview the next week.

I did pass, but then the timeline dragged—I didn’t hear anything for a while. Eventually I received a rejection, and it felt like the follow-up process was just too slow.

In another similar flow, I started with Codility. The coding test was described as very easy and mostly checked basic coding skills. After that, I had a phone screening where I didn’t advance. The questions were pretty standard from their question bank—data structures, C++ class concepts, interfaces—and I remember thinking the wording could be off, so I didn’t panic when questions sounded strange.

Neither experience ended
