For the Shanghai office, my process started with a 30-minute Zoom call.

It was friendly and smooth, and the questions mixed background discussion with a rapid-fire set of basic machine learning topics.

I felt like I was answering at a decent level, but I didn’t pass the first round. The feedback timing and the early stop at the screen were the main things that stuck with me—everything felt easy in delivery, but it still ended quickly once they decided.

Overall, it wasn’t a difficult call, just high-speed. I didn’t get an offer, and I left with the impression that the screen was about raw baseline knowledge and pace rather than depth.
