I interviewed for a Software Engineer role at DigitalOcean with an average-difficulty but relatively straightforward virtual format.

Take-home test — the first stage was a take-home exercise.
Technical round — then I had a technical interview.
Hiring manager round — a final manager conversation.
Team technical interviews — in another similar loop, the format was one manager round plus multiple short 1:1 technical interviews where questions were practical and not gimmicky.

Outcome: I didn’t get an offer, but the technical discussions felt grounded and relevant.
