After a recruiter contact and some waiting, I got pulled into a full-day in-office session that was framed like a fun experience.

It ended up feeling odd: I spent the day being handled by a group of HR people and engineers, and most of it felt like I was just present for a scheduled process rather than deeply interviewed.

Later, the rejections started coming through for a large portion of the people who had been forced to attend. I didn’t receive an offer, and the biggest surprise was how the day felt managed rather than merit-based, at least from my perspective.
