I interviewed for a .NET-focused Software Engineer role with an emphasis on architecture and platform fundamentals rather than memorizing syntax.

System design / architecture focus — an interview centered on design principles and how I reasoned about architecture decisions.
.NET Framework fundamentals — questions tested my understanding of foundational platform capabilities, with emphasis on applying concepts. Outcome: I didn’t receive an offer; the feedback implied they wanted deeper architectural thinking and strong grasp of platform capabilities.
