I interviewed for a Software Engineer role with a recruiter screen followed by a more resume-plus-systems technical panel, and it felt supportive when I didn’t know everything.

Recruiter screen (Teams/phone) — I talked about my background and interest in the company/role.
Technical panel (engineering manager) — Instead of classic LeetCode, I was tested on C++ fundamentals and debugging, working through a set of problems one by one.
Follow-on / progression — I stayed engaged even when I couldn’t answer; I was able to admit uncertainty and continue. Outcome: No offer; the takeaway was that clarity of thought and staying calm in C++/debugging-style questions helped even when answers weren’t perfect.
