My process started with a recruiter who was clear and easy to talk to, including being open about salary.

I then went into a more standard set of rounds: a Karat coding-focused stage, an architecture/design conversation, and a behavioral round that emphasized mentorship and trust.

The design discussion didn’t land for me. It felt like the interviewer already had an answer in mind rather than genuinely exploring requirements and trade-offs. The conversation also didn’t feel very interactive, and the interviewer didn’t manage time in a way that left room to complete the narrative they wanted.

I didn’t move forward because of how the rounds were conducted and how the design conversation unfolded.
