My experience started with a short introduction that covered company context, my personal details, and even an English fluency check.

After that, they sent a repository with a NodeJS app and a README with how to run it, plus a short list of tasks—one endpoint to implement and another to fix. The task wasn’t extremely large, but it required ORM knowledge and understanding transactions.

Once I delivered, I had a call with the tech leads. We discussed my submission and they asked about areas for improvement, including deeper questions around SQL joins. Even though the project requirements were clear, I didn’t implement exactly what I thought was the best solution—I focused on what I could deliver within the demarcated time.
