DubaiPosted Nov 2020 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I was approached by a recruiter through scheduling a screening call after they said they were impressed with my profile.

The call didn’t lead to further interviews, though—after the discussion they told me they decided not to move forward and to continue with candidates having a stronger experience in data science.

What made it feel tough wasn’t just the rejection; it was how the process felt like a waste of time. I remember the recruiter looking distracted and asking about salary expectations during that initial touchpoint, which made me wonder whether compensation was the real issue rather than anything technical. Since there hadn’t been an actual technical interview, I felt left without clear reasoning.
