Datadog Software Engineer interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I was basically trying to understand what the interview experience at Datadog looked like—especially what kinds of questions would show up in the technical rounds and what that really meant for preparation.

I asked around because the prompts didn’t feel easy to predict from the outside.

I didn’t provide a first-hand narrative of actually going through the loop, but the recurring theme in my questions was uncertainty about formats and topics. I wanted clarity on whether the process leaned heavily on specific LeetCode patterns or something broader like system design.

My reflection from that stage was that without knowing the shape of the questions, it felt like I’d be guessing—so I kept looking for concrete descriptions of what people encountered.
