Datadog Software Engineer interview experience

The process felt like it went deeper than a typical first-pass interview because it kept adding decision-makers.

At the end, I was told I wasn’t going to be getting the position because the headcount moved elsewhere. That kind of ending was frustrating, because I’d already invested the full loop of effort and time and the decision felt tied to timing more than capability.

My honest takeaway was that finishing everything doesn’t guarantee anything—organizational factors can still override performance, even when the interview journey itself went smoothly.
