My Datadog process started with a technical phone screen with algorithmic questions, then moved into a take-home test, and finally ended with an interview with a senior technical leader.

I remember being pleasantly surprised by how friendly the recruiting team felt, and by how strong the interviewer was in terms of technical depth.

The structure itself made sense: they didn’t just look for quick answers, they evaluated how I worked through problems in different formats. After the home test, the senior technical conversation felt more like a serious technical discussion than a casual chat.
