I had a hiring-manager outreach and then a technical phone interview involving mapping work using a BFS-style problem.

A couple weeks later, I went into an onsite that moved through several distinct technical topics back-to-back.

The onsite rounds covered MapReduce, a LazyArray concept, a multithreaded web crawler, a business/behavior-style question, and then a design round focused on a visa network payment scenario. The questions felt challenging and comprehensive, like they were trying to validate breadth rather than a single skill.

I didn’t end up with an offer, but I left the interviews feeling like the bar was high across systems, programming concepts, and applied design.
