My early steps were very recruiter-led and pretty structured.

I got a phone call that was mainly about introductions and fit: why I was interested in Coursera, some background on my experience, plus the usual behavioral basics. We also covered logistics like salary expectations and graduation date, and I had time to ask questions.

Right after that call, the technical part followed quickly. I was sent an OA-style assessment with a small mix of problems: at least one easy LeetCode-like coding challenge plus multiple-choice questions, and the format felt designed to be completed online. When I passed, the process moved straight into a technical interview
