Costco Wholesale Software Engineer interview experience

My interview was a panel setup, which made it feel more formal and higher pressure than the typical one-on-one chats.

It was virtual and included three people on the call while I sat in as the only candidate—two directors and one manager. Because it was framed as a formal-style interview, I wore a suit and tie.

The format alone changed the tone: there was less room for me to steer the conversation, and I felt like I had to be concise and composed while being evaluated from multiple angles. I didn’t receive an offer, but the experience was clearly structured around seriousness and presentation, not casual screening.
