Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a medium four-round SWE process, but the lack of depth in the design conversation left me with an uncertain impression.

Coding round(s) — Two coding rounds used a shared question bank.
Design round — The system design topic felt unconventional and wasn’t clearly disclosed ahead of time, and afterward feedback suggested the design round didn’t go deep enough.
Behavioral — Behavioral questions were standard, and the manager connection to a previous large-company context made the conversation smoother. Outcome: No offer; I took away that clarity and depth in the design discussion can make or break advancement.
