Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I interviewed for Coinbase SWE with a design-and-coding-heavy path focused on trading/order systems and careful API/service thinking, and I didn’t move forward.

Coding: trading/order execution APIs — I was asked to implement buy/sell entry logic with operations like fill/cancel/get_status, and to consider pagination choices (offset vs cursor).
Coding: filtered history endpoint — I built an endpoint to filter transaction history by time range, user, and currency using a sample dataset.
System design: task management / prioritization with quotas — Another path asked for a task management service with CRUD, priority-based listing by substring, overridable APIs, user quotas, assignment with TTL, and handling task expiration/completion
