San Francisco, CAPosted Mar 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a very technical, LeetCode-heavy Coinbase interview sequence with mostly live coding, but the experience felt high-competition and uneven.

Phone/recruiter screen (implied in 3-step flow) — a short initial step to route me into technical interviews.
Live coding: 2x medium LeetCode-style questions — I solved two medium problems; one involved building a simple game from scratch, starting with brute force and then optimizing.
Live coding (final in sequence) — another coding round; in my case the interviewer disengaged and even left mid-interview, and I struggled because the feedback loop felt broken.
Follow-up decision — no offer, and the overall vibe was technical and stressful without consistent interview
