I faced a difficult Coinbase assessment pattern where later problems were locked behind earlier successes, then the interview bar also included system design.

Online assessment with unlock-by-success — each next question only unlocked if the previous one was solved correctly.
Interview rounds: DSA + system design — I encountered multiple rounds that mirrored the assessment style, including coding done live while explaining logic.
Alternative path: banking system coding on CodeSignal — I implemented a banking system with multiple increasing-difficulty functionalities and could only complete the first two levels before stopping.
Outcome: No offer—success depended on clearing every unlocked gate, and time to finish levels
