Coinbase Software Engineer interview experience

London, EnglandPosted Feb 2025 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I experienced a lightweight-to-medium Coinbase flow that was more about interview conduct and logistics than technical depth.

Recruiter screen for an engineering manager role (calendar/scheduling under pressure) — I spoke with a recruiter who asked clichéd questions and felt unfocused.
Assessment requirement despite constraints — I was instructed to complete an assessment and submit it by end of week even when my situation made it difficult.
Outcome: No offer—the main takeaway was that the experience felt unprofessional and overly rigid rather than technically challenging.
