Citadel Software Engineer interview experience

In my coding interviews, the follow-ups weren’t just about correctness—they asked about OS and micro-level behavior like predictive branching, and they expected me to reason about what happens under the hood.

Across the rounds, the tone was very much “this is a pattern here,” where they’d start with a standard algorithm problem and then zoom into low-level optimization considerations as follow-ups. I liked the challenge more than I expected, and the overall experience felt good, even though those systems-flavored details made the interviews feel more specific than a generic coding loop.
