I ran into an automated coding screen very early, after submitting my application.

I chose Python since it was my preferred language, and the questions were fairly standard, but I didn’t get past the screen. The issue wasn’t that the tasks were exotic—it was that I wasn’t prepared enough for the format.

There wasn’t much room to recover or iterate since it was automated, and the experience ended there. Even though the difficulty sounded moderate, failing to make it through that initial coding step was a quick and blunt stop.
