My first contact turned into a phone screen where the format was pretty direct: start with an introduction and resume-based questions, then go into a probability and expected-value problem.

After that math piece, I faced a coding challenge that wasn’t the usual “clean leetcode” style—it felt more sprawling and open-ended. I got some hints on the math problem, but I struggled more on the coding portion, and I also had some trouble communicating my thinking in the moment.

The process pressure showed up in the way they seemed to care about speed. I remember finishing and feeling like I hadn’t matched the expected pace, and that tone carried into the follow-ups.
