Citadel Securities Quantitative Researcher interview experience

A big chunk of what I discussed was my experience and, more importantly, the reasoning behind how I designed systems—how I thought through constraints and tradeoffs.

As the rounds went on, the conversation stayed exploratory rather than checklist-like, and it came across as a place where they cared about thought process. I didn’t end up with an offer, but I honestly walked away appreciating the interaction more than the result. The reflection I left with was that the interview challenged me, yet it also felt like a legitimate conversation about how I think.
