I took an online assessment first, with standard LeetCode questions.

My sense was that nothing was harder than medium, and that helped me stay calmer than I expected. After finishing, I moved to a technical interview where I talked with a Citadel software engineer.

The interview was focused on coding and problem-solving, but I wasn’t able to move forward from there. The final outcome was a rejection, and the overall feel was that it wasn’t impossible—it was just that I couldn’t cross the finishing line in the interview round that followed the assessment.
