After an application stage, I ended up going through a fairly long sequence that felt heavily centered on reasoning more than anything “finance-specific.” The early phase was multiple interviews with a mix of machine learning and statistics topics, with questions ranging from straightforward to genuinely hard.

I remember being asked to explain my thinking rather than just arrive at an answer.

At one point I also had to work through an online assessment with a decent number of probability- and stats-style items. Then I moved into live conversations where a mix of math brainteasers and statistics/puzzle questions came up, along with the usual fit questions about why the role and why the team. One interview also pulled in optimization algorithm discussion and had me simulate or implement parts of the logic during the session.
