Citadel Securities Software Engineer interview experience

It started with the usual conversation about myself and my resume—about half an hour of me talking through my background, followed by questions tied to my CV. After that, I moved into a coding challenge on a shared coding platform.

The coding portion took roughly another half hour, so the whole call ended up being about an hour total. The format felt pretty direct: speak to my experience first, then immediately switch to a timed coding task. Overall it didn’t drag out or feel like a long multi-part gauntlet, but it was clearly split between behavioral context and the ability to code.
