I went into Cisco with a very technical “one-stop” style interview.

It felt extremely focused on software depth and I got the impression they wanted someone who could handle complexity while collaborating with a technically strong group. The people I spoke with were great—supportive enough that I could learn as we talked, even though the conversations stayed demanding.

It wasn’t just one narrow topic. I got pulled into discussion across multiple software areas and had a chance to connect with different teams and how their work fits together. The tone was fast-moving and engineering-heavy, the kind of setting where there’s clearly a lot to do if you join.
