After I applied online and connected with a recruiter, I went into a phone screening that didn’t feel smooth or career-focused.

The conversation quickly became frustrating when I was encouraged to ask a specific question during the interview, but when I did, the interviewer seemed genuinely unable to answer it. Overall it felt like a misfire—more like a waste of time than a real exchange about the role.

In later interviews, the tone also felt off to me. I came in with years of sales leadership and quota experience, and I expected the discussion to center on how I’d fit into their business. Instead, the feedback and emphasis leaned heavily toward a money-driven mindset and motivation rather than anything like honesty
