Chegg Software Engineer interview experience

Got offer

Easy

Positive

United StatesPosted Feb 2020 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I basically had the opposite experience of the usual long grind: after a referral and a direct offer, the process was straightforward and easy.

Once the offer came in, I negotiated, and they were receptive to the changes I asked for. They were clear that the role/location and compensation were attractive, and the overall vibe was “make the decision and move on.”

The only real downside I felt was that the process could’ve been faster and smoother from start to finish. Even though I ended up with what I wanted, the timeline still didn’t feel as tightly managed as the offer itself. Looking back, I appreciated how painless it was, but I also couldn’t ignore that parts of the process didn’t match the simplicity of the final decision.
