At that point, I’d only completed the first step: an interview with the hiring/acquisition department.

The employee was friendly and very upfront about the role, which made it feel comfortable right away.

They asked personal questions about my life and what I wanted next, along with what I enjoyed that related to the position and how I thought I’d fit with the company. It didn’t feel like a technical evaluation so much as a human check for alignment. I moved partway through the process, but I wasn’t offered the role from what I completed so far.
