Capital One Data Analyst interview experience

Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I got a call for a Principal Data Analyst interview, and the next step was a data challenge that I had to clear before moving forward.

It felt like a straightforward gate: if I could handle the challenge, I’d be able to continue in the process.

Beyond that, I didn’t have much else documented about how the later rounds played out, but getting through that data challenge was the immediate focus at the time. I didn’t receive an offer based on what I have recorded, and honestly the main memory I retained was how early the challenge was in the pipeline—like they wanted proof of ability before anything more conversational.
