Bumble Inc. Software Engineer interview experience

I was asked things such as names of functions in PHP and Linux commands—details that felt easy to look up rather than a way to assess analytical ability.

At one point, I mentioned something about CORS that the interviewer didn’t seem to know, but I still failed because I couldn’t recall certain Linux command names I normally only look up on StackOverflow. The mismatch between what I thought they were evaluating and what actually happened was really demoralizing.

I got rejected, and what I remember most is how uncomfortable it felt that the bar seemed to be about remembering obscure commands
