BT Group Software Engineer interview experience

A lot of the questions revolved around my degree and what I’d been doing, plus details from my CV and cover letter. They also asked about extracurricular activities and what motivated me—my interest in the company and the reasons I wanted the role.

It didn’t feel like there was hidden complexity. The tone stayed relaxed, and I remember leaving with a sense that they were primarily checking my background alignment and motivation. My outcome wasn’t an offer, but the questions themselves felt like they were designed to be accessible and easy to answer directly.
