Fort Collins, COPosted Feb 2017 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I applied online through a school job posting portal, and after that I was asked to come interview on campus.

The interview felt like it was set up mainly for practice, and I remember being thrown off by the fact that the person interviewing me for a technical role didn’t have a technical background.

Because of that mismatch, the conversation didn’t have the usual technical grounding I expected. It stayed fairly general around my background and fit, but the lack of subject-matter comfort made the process feel less precise than it could have been. I didn’t receive an offer, and that disconnect with the interviewer’s technical experience was the biggest thing that stuck with me.
