My first step was a recruiter phone call.

It was pretty straightforward: they walked through the job requirements, the base location, and asked me for my salary expectations. They also checked my understanding of what BCG does, and specifically what BCGX is, before I applied.

After that call I didn’t really get much momentum—I was still waiting for the next interview round. Overall it felt like an early screen more than a technical evaluation, and I left it feeling like I’d cleared the first hurdle, but I couldn’t tell yet where the process was going.
