My first interaction was a quick screening call, and it turned out to be much less about technical fit and more about my background on paper.

They asked about my year of experience and how much I had, and then they rejected me because they said it wasn’t enough. What bothered me was that they could’ve verified that earlier during the CV screening.

I felt like I communicated it clearly on the call, so the abrupt rejection felt wasteful rather than thoughtful. I didn’t move forward to any technical rounds and left the process without an offer.
