BMW Group Systems Engineer interview experience

I was asked about the toughest part of my life and how I overcame it, and then I had to name three things I was particularly good at.

They also wanted to hear about my biggest fear and the reasoning behind it. The format felt more like a conversation than a structured technical evaluation, and it put the emphasis on mindset and self-awareness.

I didn’t receive an offer, but I walked away feeling like the questions were designed to understand how I think about challenges and strengths rather than to test any specific coding knowledge.
