San Francisco, CAPosted Mar 2018 · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I started by applying through the cold-apply route, and after that I got recruiter outreach to schedule a phone screen.

The screen itself didn’t feel like it had any trick to it—it was mostly the usual “tell me about yourself” style conversation.

After the call, they sent me a coding challenge where they basically provided front-end page pictures and asked me to build them. I wasn’t super comfortable with CSS, so my implementation wasn’t great; I did get something working but made a critical mistake that could be fixed. I ended up getting an email saying I wouldn’t move forward, which was a pretty abrupt stop compared to how straightforward the early phone screen felt.
