My process started with a call after a phone screen, and then I came in for face-to-face interviews.

On the day I was there, I met with the assistant store manager and the department manager first, and then I wrapped up with the HR manager. It wasn’t presented as a difficult ordeal—more like checking that I could handle customer situations and fit into how the store operated.

A similar interview cycle stayed focused on basics: I was asked how engaging I could be with strangers and how I’d handle customer problems while staying patient when the store got busy. There were also practical pieces to the process. I was told about a background check and that I’d have to complete a practice course
