Canada2013 interview · Candidate report, summarized by Dataford

I went through a structured two-phone-interview sequence tied to an externship I’d done with the company through UT in the winter of 2013.

In the spring of 2014, I was scheduled for two calls. The first was non-technical and focused on culture fit.

The second was technical, and it didn’t feel brutally hard. I got questions about the difference between Java object declaration versus instantiation, and then I had to write SQL queries. The technical portion felt manageable, like it was testing whether I could translate fundamentals into working answers.

I eventually received an offer. The whole thing felt pretty clean and direct—non-technical first, then straightforward technical validation.
