My interview felt good overall, but the questions caught me off guard because they weren’t what I expected.

They could be basically anything related to my COE, including topics that seemed much broader than a typical consulting case—questions as simple as how to start a business.

The main thing I noticed was that the process rewarded understanding of what the COE actually does and the type of work they run through that lens. Since the questions weren’t narrowly defined as case-only, my ability to connect my background to their COE focus mattered a lot.

I didn’t receive an offer, and honestly the unpredictability of the question areas made it harder than I’d expected going in.
