I was shortlisted and then went into a telephonic technical round.

Based on the experience I had, I expected the conversation to line up with my level, but the interview mostly stayed at very basic foundations from bachelor-level concepts. The mismatch threw me off because it didn’t feel like the interviewer was grounding the discussion in my actual background.

What made it especially frustrating was that the interviewer didn’t even check the job description before conducting the interview. The round dragged on longer than I expected, and it ended without me advancing to an offer.
